The Ja'kirate Battle League, or the JBL, is the only government sanctioned form of this sport in the world. 
Ja’kirate is a specially designed form of the martial arts in which the ultra-potent ja’kira or neural-energy within the brain’s reservoir is able to be channeled and focused into deliberate hand to hand attacks. Unlike the other martial art forms in which the participant’s focus is solely on accessing the body’s inner “chi”, Ja’kirate enables the user to access the vast repository of previously untapped bodily energy and use it to substantially increase their agility, speed and/or strength. Ja’kirate Battling is a competitive cooperative combatant match between two or more individuals or between two sanctioned Ja’kirate Battle teams. All JBL sanctioned matches must take place within an enviromentally shifting holographic arena. The object of ja’kirate battling is to use ja'kirate and any mayhem abilities the battlers possess to reduce their opponent's battling points as close to zero, as they can, within the alotted time of the match. TRAINEE: All students in the academy have to learn ja'kirate. The trainee level is for those who are just trying to gain control over their abilities but aren't necessarily interested in competitive battling. The majority of the trainee lessons consist of simple ja'kira harnessing techniques and light battling against the power mimicking Simulation robots or "Sim-bots". At this level, all training against the sim-bots and that, within the holographic battle room must be monitored by one of the Ja'kirate Battle team coaches. JUNIOR VARSITY: At the junior varsity level, the battler has decided that they want to participate in competitive battling and has acquired enough skill and control over their abilities to face living opponents. The battler is also allowed to train in the holographic battle room and against the sim-bots, unsupervised. Upon the completion of this level, the battler receives their "varsity" name. VARSITY: At the varsity level, the battler has gained complete mastery over their basic powers and has discovered other, less obvious ways to utilize their mayhem abilities. The battler is also confident and skilled enough to battle multiple opponents at once. |
